After a brief stop in the Hague for provisions we quickly sailed on to Zeebrugge in Belgium. We only had 24 hours in Belgium, but they were well spent on a visit to Brüges . This medieval town seemingly hasn’t changed for a thousand years. And definitely not since Pernille’s last visit 16 years ago. The town is only a 20 min train ride from Zeebrugge.

Back then a nice family trip turned into a somewhat feminist crusade for Pernille’s mum. Her and her best friend were getting a bit upset by seeing how all the chocolatiers were displaying only chocolate breasts in the windows. By the end of the day mum was fed up and marched in to one of the shops demanding to know where all the chocolates penises were! 😳😂 The nice lady then showed her that they kept them in a box under the counter. Mum was pleased to know that they made them, but didn’t feel it was true equality until either both breasts and penises were on display in the window, or neither 💪
Well mum, they display it all now. But we feel it’s a bit more than you bargained for 😒😅
