Mission 1 – From Denmark to Greece

On March 24th 2021 we hoisted sails from Copenhagen, Denmark and headed for the European coastlines. For our first sailing season it was our goal to sail to Leo’s home village in Greece. We has hoped to visit Norway, the UK and Ireland on the way, but unfortunately travel restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted our plans, and in June we decided to postpone our Nordic adventures and headed straight for southern Europe.

We sailed the North Sea along the Danish west coast via Helgoland to the standing mast route in Netherlands. From there we sailed around the French north coast, waiting for a weather window to sail across the Biscay to Northern Spain. From there we sailed down the Portuguese coast to the strait of Gibraltar and through the Mediterranean sea to Greece.

Many if’s and but’s have defined our voyage, but our main concerns were always our engine (which is now lacking an oil cooler) and the threat of orcas taking of with our rudder. Mission 2 – Exploring the Med

Now that we’ve sailed our beloved boat all the way to Greece we intend to hang around for a while. We spent the the winter at Leo’s family home on the Pelion peninsula prepping for our next sailing adventures.

The sailing season 2022 is dedicated to exploring the eastern parts of the Mediterranean – especially the Aegean sea, possibly the Ionian too and maybe even the Adriatic – time and wind will tell. We hope this year’s adventure will contain a lot of diving expeditions, all kinds of wind-driven fun, learning about marine sustainability plus many surprises and hidden gems.

We intend to keep our YouTube channel going and share our adventures with you along the way.

Hopefully this season will not be the last either 🙂
