Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas (if you celebrate) and are entering the new year with a happy heart. We just want to say thank you for all the support we’ve received in 2022. You reading our blog posts, watching our videos on YouTube or liking our posts in Instagram, means a lot to us.
We really enjoy receiving feedback on our content as it feels like we are growing our own little community online. Sailing can be quite a lonely endeavour at times, but communicating with all of you online across various platforms really makes us feel like we’re always taking a little community with us. So thank you so much for being here.

Following our 1st season sailing from Denmark to Greece in, at times, quite a fast pace (we didn’t have the opportunity to explore much crossing the Med), we decided to dedicate this year to exploring one of the world’s prime sailing destinations, the Aegean.
Here’s a map of all the islands we visited on our journey. For more on each site please check-out the vlogs on our YouTube channel.

Some of our personal highlights of 2022 include:
- Sailing into a cave. Wow, that was nuts! Why we always have to do these stupid, reckless things just for fun, is a really good question. We can only say that we were inspired by Leo’s dad, who had done it before (albeit in a smaller sailboat), and we thought it was so cool we had to do it as well. The sea was just about calm enough and the boat survived the ordeal in the end – the Captain’s nerves are still recovering though.
- Swimming with a sea turtle. And she came to us?! We had just finished our swim and were standing on deck when this big, gorgeous turtle surfaced right next to us. We jumped in expecting her to swim away quickly. But no, no, she just continued her swim really calmly, almost like she was waiting for us, and allowed us to dive right next to her. Eventually we were the ones to leave her as she was taking us out of the bay. And Kai was not happy we’d left him on the boat.
- We were on German TV for all of 5 minutes! We had such a fun day filming with the nicest crew. Definitely a whole new experience for us. You can read more about the experience and find a link to the programme here.
- Kind-of winning the local fun regatta. We actually came in 4th, but 1st of the none-racers – so we considered that a win 😉 On the boat we were joined by Leo’s dad and his two cousins, and it was so a fun and thrilling experience! We dedicated a whole video on YouTube to regatta, click here to watch.
- Diving with a professional underwater photographer (and personal friend). It was a bit of an impromtu dive and we therefore only had a small hour before losing the light. But with Leo being a skilled free-diver and Timon being such a talented photographer, they still managed to get some decent shots – check this one out on our Instagram.
We also learnt that one should be careful when fishing plastic out of the ocean. This year we accidentally picked up box of ammunition. And delivering this to the authorities were a bit of a nightmare! Lesson learnt. Apparently you can actually take your love of the ocean and drive to clean it up a bit too far.
2022 treated us well and we enjoyed a fantastic year of exploring this beautiful part of the world, and spending lots of time with family and friends (new and old). We may be dangerously close to bankruptcy, which is at times a bit stressful, but we never forget to appreciate our privilege. We thank our lucky stars for these adventures every day.
In 2023 we hope to continue the journey on our little boat and share our experiences with all of you. But more on that later!
Happy New Year & Fair winds to you all in 2023!
Leo, Kai & Pernille
May your 2023 be filled joyous non-grumpy sailing and cruising adventures! 😀⛵️😀

Haha thanks – we’ll probably always be a bit grumpy though, seems to be our modus operandi at this stage – but always with a smile 🙂
